About this role
The Business Development Rep/Outreach Coordinator is a vital member of the patient acquisition team and serves as the external-facing representative of BrightView. Primary role is to drive census growth by generating referrals, building brand awareness, and executing a structured sales approach to community engagement. This role requires travel for outreach between Mason, Middletown and Wilmington areas.
Outreach Coordinators develop new referral sources while expanding existing accounts using sales discipline, market insights, and mission alignment. They consistently perform outreach basics such as prospecting, relationship-building, and follow-up with grit and persistence. Success is defined by meeting outreach activity goals and converting referrals into patient admissions.
As part of the patient acquisition team, the role involves mapping and managing a defined territory, prioritizing high-value accounts, and tracking touchpoints. Coordinators serve as a reliable resource for referral partners across healthcare, criminal justice, and community organizations. They ensure smooth access to treatment while aligning efforts with BrightView’s mission of improving patient outcomes.
Once outreach fundamentals are mastered, develop account plans and territory strategies to maximize referral growth. Share field insights to support organizational planning and market strategy. Tie personal effort to patient outcomes through measurable growth in census and admissions.
Requirements
- Resilience and persistence to maintain motivation despite rejection and sustain high levels of activity
- Sales acumen with willingness to learn sales planning, objection handling, and conversion strategies
- Execution-oriented to consistently deliver on daily outreach commitments and achieve activity targets
- Coachability to actively seek feedback and adapt strategies to improve results
- Strong communication skills to connect with diverse stakeholders and build rapport
- Strategic thinking to map accounts, prioritize opportunities, and plan sales approaches
- Proficiency in CRM platforms, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools (trainable)
- Ability and willingness to travel within assigned territory
Responsibilities
- Identify, establish, and grow relationships with key referral partners across healthcare, criminal justice, and community organizations
- Conduct regular partner visits and check-ins to strengthen relationships and increase referral volume
- Consistently execute daily outreach activities including prospecting, visits, calls, and follow-ups to achieve referral and census goals
- Map and manage a defined territory, prioritizing high-value accounts and tracking touchpoints
- Apply sales techniques including objection handling, pipeline management, and account growth strategies
- Track activities and results through CRM, producing accurate reporting on outreach effectiveness
- Represent BrightView at networking events, conferences, and community meetings to promote awareness
- Educate stakeholders on substance use disorder treatment and BrightView’s patient-first approach
