We are seeking a motivated second-year Chemical Engineer to join our team at Jemena. You'll bring hands-on experience in gas transmission pipelines, gas processing facilities, asset management, and plant performance. This role supports safe and efficient operations in a dynamic, safety-focused energy environment.

Contribute to safety requirements by applying risk management practices, root cause investigations, management of change, and conducting risk assessments. Develop and maintain safety dashboards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Implement changes to gas market tools and review gas market alarm policies for compliance and reliability.

Gain practical experience deepening technical expertise in process safety and operations. Support Gas Markets optimisation across maintenance management, safety critical devices, inspections, and document management. Assist Business Performance Team with decarbonisation efforts like reducing Flare Used Gas and System Used Gas.

Requirements

  • Second-year graduate of a Chemical Engineering degree with practical exposure to gas transmission pipelines and gas processing facilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of asset management, plant performance, and operational efficiency in an energy or process environment
  • Working knowledge of safety requirements with experience applying risk management practices and conducting risk assessments
  • Experience developing or supporting safety dashboards
  • Contributed to reviews or improvements of alarm management policies and gas market tools
  • Ability to support Gas Markets in optimising systems and processes across process safety areas

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to safety requirements and apply risk management practices
  • Conduct root cause investigations, management of change, and risk assessments
  • Develop and maintain safety dashboards
  • Implement changes to gas market tools
  • Review gas market alarm policies for compliance and operational reliability
  • Support optimisation of systems and processes in process safety areas including maintenance management
  • Manage safety critical devices, inspections, maintenance, and document management
  • Assist with decarbonisation and emissions reduction efforts such as optimisation of Flare Used Gas and System Used Gas
