About this role
The main purpose of the Sales Development Representative (SDR) is to generate and qualify outbound sales opportunities by initiating high-level, personalized outreach to prospective clients. This role builds the top of the sales funnel from scratch through outbound prospecting efforts. It focuses exclusively on outbound activity, without relying on Marketing Qualified Leads.
You will conduct in-depth research on prospective clients, including their brand, positioning, marketing activities, and service fit. Craft highly personalized outreach messages via LinkedIn and email, avoiding mass templates. Initiate conversations, qualify prospects, and book discovery meetings for the sales team.
Report directly to the Sales Department Lead and collaborate closely with Sales and Service Departments. Ensure smooth transitions from prospecting to discovery and closing. Participate in sales meetings, performance reviews, and contribute ideas for outbound improvements.
Track outreach KPIs, test and optimize messaging to boost reply and booking rates. Research industry trends in digital marketing and e-commerce. Undergo regular performance reviews, starting after 3-6 months, with a trial-and-adaptation period in the first two months.
Requirements
- Familiarity with prospecting tools like Apollo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Experience using HubSpot for CRM and outreach sequences
- Ability to perform in-depth research on client brands and marketing activities
- Skill in crafting personalized sales copy for LinkedIn and email
- Understanding of digital marketing and e-commerce industry trends
- Proficiency in qualifying prospects based on specific criteria
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed research on prospective clients, including their brand, positioning, marketing activities, and potential service fit
- Identify and build targeted prospect lists using Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other prospecting tools
- Create highly personalized outbound messages via LinkedIn and email
- Initiate and manage outbound conversations with potential clients
- Qualify prospects based on predefined criteria before booking discovery meetings
- Book and schedule discovery meetings for the Sales Team
- Maintain and update CRM records in HubSpot
- Continuously test and optimize outreach messaging to improve reply and booking rates
